DIY Gift Card Snow Globe

Give the delicious gift of an Ithaca Bakery gift card this holiday season!  Purchase one online or come to any of our locations to pick one up. 

Wow all your friends by jazzing up the gift card with a unique and exciting presentation.  When you give this creative present, the receiver gets to open the snow globe like a gift and the jar can be re-used again after removing the gift card, the gift card is unaffected by water. 

Create a gift card snow globe with a few common household items, and an Ithaca Bakery gift card.   

Here’s what you need:

• An Ithaca Bakery Gift Card
• A Jar (Mason, Spaghetti sauce, pickle, etc. Just make sure the lid screws on tight!)
• Ribbon
• Hot Glue Gun
• Glitter
• Ornaments (or any other small decorations that can get wet)
• Water

First: Make a line of hot glue on the jar lid, where the gift card will go.

Stick the gift card into the line of hot glue, so that it is standing up.  Let cool/dry completely.

While that is drying, create a festive bow to tie around the lid.  You'll need the lid, ribbon, and scissors. 

Hot glue around the outside of the lid, and then wrap a complete loop of ribbon around the lid.  Create the bow separately, by cutting a piece of ribbon approximately 6" long, depending on the size of your lid.  Shape two evenly sized loops with this length of ribbon, then cross the right loop over the left loop.  Put the right loop behind the left one, then under and through the hole.  Pull the loops into a smooth bow, adjust and trim as needed.

Next, place your embellishments in the jar.

Pour a small amount of glitter into the jar.

Fill the Jar with water to the top, then screw on the lid and voila!: A Gift Card Snow globe!
